Information You Choose to Send
Queries Entered in Search Tools
When you type a name, location, or other term into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party company that operates the search service. Quitman County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its own privacy policy and technical practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or submit a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details you provide long enough to read, route, and answer it. We do not share those communications outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law. Messages should not include sensitive data that is not needed for the question.
Technical Data Collected During Visits
Standard web systems can collect limited technical details whenever a page loads. This data helps operate the site, measure use, and diagnose faults. It may include:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- The browser name and version in use
- The device category and operating system
- Pages opened and the time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookie Use and Browser Controls
Cookies are small files used to understand how visitors move through the site and interact with its features. Most browsers let you reject, restrict, or delete cookies. Blocking them may change how some site functions, partner tools, or advertising features behave.
Why We Process This Information
Collected information is used only for operating, assessing, and supporting the site and its connected services. Those purposes include:
- Keeping pages available and improving response speed
- Sending search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Learning which Quitman County release and records pages visitors find useful
- Finding, diagnosing, and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Privacy on Linked Services
Quitman County Released Inmates links to county release-record sources, sheriff and corrections pages, Mississippi government portals, and third-party search tools. Once you follow one of those links, the destination's privacy notice and data practices govern your activity. We do not control how the outside operator collects, keeps, or uses information.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar technology to measure activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place through the partner's systems, not ours. Review the advertiser's controls if you want to limit that processing.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be received or processed by limited categories of recipients when needed for site functions or legal compliance:
- Search partners that handle queries entered into their tools
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess ads
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security, Not a Guarantee
We use standard, reasonable practices intended to protect information under our control. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system connected to the internet is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or a data breach will never occur.
Use by Minors
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A parent, guardian, or minor who believes such information was submitted may use the Contact Us page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the law that applies to you and the type of information involved, you may ask us to take one or more of these actions:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information where erasure is available
- Opt out of certain forms of processing
Requests can be sent through the Contact Us page. We may need enough information to verify the request and identify the data at issue. Requests involving a sheriff, MDOC, court, VINE, BOP, ICE, or another outside system must be directed to that record holder because we do not control its files.
Revisions to This Privacy Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as site practices, connected services, or legal requirements change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication means the revised notice applies to later activity.
